What are the scientific base for the campaign?
Clinical studies were done in USA and in other parts of the world to see if there are any steps that can be taken to try and prevent diabetes, show that a reasonable adjustments in diet, physical activity and a reduction of about 5 - 7% of body weight can delay the diagnosis of type II diabetes or can prevent it altogether.
What is the goal of this campaign?
To raise the awareness among the general public of Qatar, and especially among those who are at the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, regarding the dangerous consequences of unhealthy lifestyles and ways to improve it. Emphasizing that through such awareness Type 2 diabetes can be delayed or avoided.
