VISION

Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) aims to be the leader in diabetes prevention and care, locally and regionally.

MISSION

QDA will achieve its vision through employee camaraderie, awareness and training programs; dissemination of information; research initiatives; and volunteer work in diabetes prevention and care.

GOALS

To have a broad audience involved in research and clinical practice in nephrology, urology and transplantation related to Asian and Middle East populations.

To exchange useful information and experience, aiming to enhance the lives of people with diabetes and to reduce the cost, not only in terms of human morbidity and mortality but also relative to the economic burden it has imposed on the health-care system.

VALUES

QDA believes that diabetes is not a hindrance in living a normal life. Services rendered by QDA reflect values based on the following:

  • A - Accountability; QDA is responsible in every commitment to our clients towards our vision.

News and Current events

Qatar Diabetes Association is proud to announce its role as an Endorsing Society of the1st World Congress on Interventional Therapies for Type 2 Diabetes.

Qatar Diabetes Associociation in colaboration with Aspire held a Walkathon at Aspire Dome on 14th Nov celebrating the World Diabetes Day..

Second Youlth Health Camp

Second youth health camp at the youth hostel continues until the eighth of this month.25 students participates between the ages of sixteenth and eighteenth suffering from overweight and diabetes heredity. Participants will receive intensive training program to raise awareness about how to avoid diabetes.

Women Health Program

QDA in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs organized The women's health and diabetes program. The program takes place in the training center in Al Khour City. The program aims to Raise awareness among community members about diabetes and how to prevent it, the risk of infection,
economic threats resulting from diabetes at both the patient and the entire health system.

DASG

Diabetes in Asia Study Group (DASG) held a meeting on 29th March 2008 in QDA. The meeting was to discuss the October 2008 conference in Nepal. Also they discussed the fundraising for DASG, its website, and membership to DASG.

EMME

Qatar Diabetes Association, a member of IDF, is organizing the 2008 Regional Council Meeting and Regional Workshops on behalf of the IDF / EMME Region. The first workshop on 26th of March (consist of members from 16 countries) to put guidelines for setting national diabetes programs in their countries. The next day 27th workshop was to discuss the items of the agenda that deal with the IDF plans to implement the UN resolution, developing activities of the member associations.
